The Paddy-Wagon broke down at our first stop in Glendalough, were we waited an extra two hours for a replacement bus in the 6th century town. We spent the additional time exploring the three buildings in town, and drinking tea at the local hotel.
Senses
What I Saw: Countryside, Ruins, pre-Celtic Bronze Age hill, A Castel, Graves, River and Lake
What I Heard: Tour guide's endless tales of Ireland, "Uprising," Irish songs,
What I Tasted: Tea, Fresh baked scone, Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas,
What I Touched: Hurling Sticks, Rocks, Ruins, Rain,
History and Facts
- There are no trees in Ireland’s countryside because hundreds of years ago the Irish people burnt them down to prevent the English from taking them and using to build ships.
