We actually made it out of West Virginia by 8:30 this morning, and I think Nick woke up sometime around 9. Thank God for bungee cords and duct tape. We had a bit of a scare when we crossed the boarder into Ohio, the sign said "Welcome to West Virginia". Nick is convinced that West By God Virginia is just confused and posted the welcome sign at the exit.

It was about that time that Donna stopped listening to me. She swore that she couldn't hear me...yeah right. Ok, so we thought her CB was having issues, so we made a brief detour to Troy, OH. As luck would have it, Sierra, Inc., the company that installed her CB in Daytona a few years back, happens to be located on our travel route. It turned out that her CB was working just fine, it's mine that is not transmitting. My brand new, $600 CB failed on day 3 of installation. I must admit, I am a wee bit bend over this turn of events. I called Tommy, the Honda sales guy who is going to try and help me out, but most likely I will be spending my trip listening to "Moo Cow" when I saw the darn things first!  It is a good thing we brought Nick on this trip. He has solved the communication problem by suggesting that we obtain a white board and markers.

As we crossed into Indiana, dark clouds were looming on the horizon. The Weather Lady on the GPS interrupted Fleetwood Mac to announce scattered storms in the area. I waived Donna up next to me and asked her if she thought we were running into a storm, to which she replied, "no way!" And then a huge raindrop hit her in the forehead. Thanks to a bit of luck (and Donna's  lucky rubber ducky key chain) the rain lasted only a few minutes. However, we decided not to tempt fate, (and we were really hungry) and stopped in Greenfield, IN for the night. After a feast fit for kings at the local Ponderosa, we are now showered and have completed the map ritual.

We are off to St. Louis, MO tomorrow to do the tourist thing at the Gateway Arch.

P.S. Nick wants to remind everyone that he is awesome.
