Our fellow travellers waved us off from the jetty on Koh Wai and we took the 10am slow boat to our next destination of Koh Mak.

After one hour on a choppy sea we arrived at the jetty and were greeted by numerous owners and touts for the resorts and hotels around the island.
One guy came up to us (not saying very much at all) showed us his pictures of his place, Island Hut.  He told us how much it was and said 'if you don't like then no problem.'  We liked the look of the pictures but you can never be so sure so we thought we would give him a go.  He did look a bit like Mr Mee-agi from the Karate Kid films!  But was disappointed to learn later that his name was not that but Nar.

Well now since arriving in Thailand we had longed to find a bit of paradise.  We found it or so we thought on Koh Wai but with the choppy sea and windy coast it just didn't cut the mustard for paradise.
But Island Hut well......the first view we got of the flat mill pond sea gently lapping at a white fine sandy shore......and then Mr Mee-agi showed us to our little house right by the shore.

It was shaded by palm trees and there in the front was a hammock.  Sold.  The house itself was small but comfortable.  It had its own bathroom and we did a deal for 300 baht a night instead of the usual 350 or 6.  We dumped the bags in the room put on our swimming costumes and checked out the sea.  Heaven.
The hammock was popular too with me and Martin having to take strict turns to avoid a domestic!
We can see ourselves being here for a while........
