Our trek was unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were told it was a 3 hour walk
No one told us that it was a 3000 metre descent into a canyon. It took us 4 hours to do we were in bits by the end. The final stretch of 100 metres was via a small sand ledge which you had to negotiate sideways, while hanging onto the cliff edge. We were absolutely done in!!!! Even those younger than us said they found it tough going. We arrived at 4 pm there was no water for a shower so we lay on our beds. I drifted off for about 10 mins and when i woke up my thighs had seized up. I was in agony. It was so supposed to be a beautiful oasis at the bottom of the canyon but it was to dark to see anything by the time we arrived. So we thought thats OK well see it in the morining till the guide said were leaving at 5 in the morning while its still dark! There was no way we could have walked up the canyon again so we arranged to ride mules at an extra cost of $15 except mine cost $20 because I´m so Grande ie fat! It was a nerve wracking 2 hour climb on these mules they went right to the edge of the cliff face as they negoitited the climb but by the end we were loving every minute of it. The scenery was stunning and we were able to appreciate it more than on the way down
