Weather is dry but a bit chilly - we are wearing all of our layers at once and the bed in the hostel has loads of blankets on  - we think this is to keep the bed bugs warm! only joking it is a lovely place really central in Miraflores , the people are really nice and friendly and the food is really nice as long as you dont ask what it is.......

The hostel is in the seaside bit of Lima, Miraflores and lots of surfing going on but they al have their wet suits on - not many suntanned chests to ogle at - of either sex! -

We took a trip around the city of Lima yesterday, it is huge,  included as visit to the monastry of San Fransisco which has crypts underneath housing the remains of 75,00 bodies  _ the public cemetry apparently for hundreds of years, the bodies were just carried down a secret passage way after the funeral service and stacked on top of one another with a sprimkle of lime -  we were treated to a close up view of a few thousand of the bones - all sorted neatly into skulls and femurs etc.. Funnily enough it wasnt eerie at all it had quite a peaceful atmosphere.

We rounded off the trip with a visit to a gorgeous restaurant La Rosa Nautica at the end of a pretty peir can reccomend splashing out on the margaritas and cerviche * a raw fish dish marinated in lime and chillies, with the waves crashing around us really lovely experience. Its a hard life on the road! We start roughing it proper today - our bus leaves at lunch time we are breaking the trip to Cusco into a few stops as the whiplash is still going strong  and we dont fancy sleeping on the bus just yet. We will keep you posted
Take care love Lynne and Dave xxxx
