We were late down for breakfast but still managed to get in the full quota.

We gatecrashed the Klong Dao Beach Resort grounds about 10:45 and were surprised to discover it quite empty. I collected two deck chairs from the stack and took them over to a shady spot under a group of fir and palm trees. We reckoned that we wouldn't have to keep moving into the shade if we started under the trees, thus avoiding gaining too much attention. Unfortunately one of the deck chairs I had carefully chosen was broken so I had to walk right back to the stack and choose another one, under the surveillance of the legal residents.

I managed to finish the book I was reading (second one since being here) and Terry listened to tunes on his IPod. We were both pretty oblivious to what was happening around us, but did spot an official looking guy with a Klong Dao Beach Resort T shirt on, walking around the grounds looking at everyone and occasionally exchanging nods. As he got nearer us, we both pretended to be asleep. I did open one eye slightly and was relieved to discover he had walked straight past us. This will be our strategy for the rest of the time we are here.

All the time we sat in the grounds we could hear birds singing around us and occasionally the largish birds, which we later learned were Myna birds, would fly down from the trees and strut around us. They didn't seem to be at all uncomfortable around humans and would come quite near us to pick up grubs and tidbits from the ground.

We spent the afternoon discussing possible plans for the future and also did a fair bit of imposter spotting. It really is quite easy when your one yourself. A couple of young girls appeared on the scene at about 14:00, it was blatantly obvious they weren't from the Hotel or bungalows as they were holding crash helmets.

Late afternoon and evening took on the usual routine of watching the sunset over a beer and having a nice meal, this time at the Klong Dao beach restaurant. I made the mistake of having a Green Curry which kept me awake all night, and Terry had Sweet and Sour Chicken. We really felt we should have been a little more adventurous with the food offered, but didn't want to tempt fate!
