Our first morning in San Fran and we decided to take a look at the famous Lombard street... to those who have not heard of this, its the windiest street in the world, or the country, or something!! We then walked down to the piers and managed to get a tour to Alcatraz. This was a really good experience and we met an ex prisoner Darwin Coon. We bought his book and he signed it for us. Not too sure if shaking his hand was the right thing to do... he was a bad man once!

Our first day was spent doing the whole 'touristy thing' and taking lots of pictures. The seals at pier 39 were quite amusing to watch... i made a little video which i hope to upload when i get to a computer that actually works. As Heather is not yet legal to drink in America, our evenings were some what limited... however that didnt stop us and instead we drank in the hostel with our mate rick and chris and chris and chris... oh by the way, everyone appeared to be called chris here. Either that or the beer was really strong!

Our second day we decided to avoid the 'touristy thing' and headed straight for the Golden Gate Bridge! Although this bridge attracts millions of tourists every year, we still managed to miss the masses of people heading for it. Instead we ended up stood under the Bridge rather than on it... think we took the wrong path along with Barry and Joan.. an elderly couple from Canada. Barry visited Plymouth once and took great pleasure in sharing with us his best janner impression... great!

The bridge was stunning as you can see from our many photographs. (Lynn got a bit too snap happy!) The bridge was unbelievably windy... and we thought the Tamar bridge was bad! Would definately recommend a visit to San Fran, although not if your a wheelchair user... far too many hills and no room for error!

Today we're off to LA on the good old Greyhound bus... we'l let you know how we get on. Will update again soon. Lots of love to everyone, Hev and Lynn xxx
