We considered staying one more night in the Hunter Valley region however with a mid-morning deadline to return our Floyd to the Sydney depot and the prospect of dealing with rush hour traffic on the horizon, we opted to spend our final night 'in a van down by a river' a little closer to town.
Situated in the foothills of the famous Blue Mountains, Bents Basin is actually more like a giant watering hole than a river but whatever, it proved a beautiful backdrop for our final night on the road. Despite the massive infestation of houseflies brought on by recent flooding we still managed to enjoy a little music, a little Mexican food and a little wine under an immense canopy of sparkling stars. In tribute of our trusty steed, we even pulled out a little Pink Floyd.
