Global Rally Classic Car

Fairbanks was interesting for a lot of reasons,one of which is that the first night there we went to dinner and spotted a car with an unusual flyer on the door.

I went to their website and this group every other year does a rally through many countries in vintage cars. We have registered and may consider doing one of their rallys in 2014.

Ice Museum

We played at the Ice Museum - brrr!, enjoyed a touristy visit to the Alaskaland Pioneer Park that included attending a nighttime vaudeville performance

that ended after midnight with the sun still shinning in this city where the sun never sets.

Changing temperatures

Because it gets so cold in Fairbanks, notice the temperature change in the photo, the car engines have heaters and there are power points at the parking meters to plug in your car when stopped!

University of Alaska Museum of the North

The UA Museum is well worth a visit - that is a big bear, as is a visit to Mary Shields home. Mary was the first woman to finish the 1,049 mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race.

The Aurora Ice Museum

The Aurora Ice Museum was a cool location (yuk yuk), we met a fellow from Israel and for him, Jackie did a ceremonial stomping on the glass.
