Sun (18th) I left Fox early and it took ages to get to Wanaka, as the roads are really windy and we seemed to be constantly stopping on route at various scenic places. On the first such occasion (where no new passengers had been picked up), I returned to my seat to find someone else sitting there and instead of politely asking him to move, or at the very least plonking myself down next to him, I just meekly sat down on the back row of the coach. Couldn't believe how pathetic I was, so after the next stop I sat down next to him, making a point of reaching over for my stuff which was still there. After a few more stops he eventually moved back to his original seat - next to his girlfriend. Cheeky blighter.
Anyway, Wanaka itself was nice enough, though glad I was only staying the one night. Having checked into my hostel etc, I went on a rather stenuous walk up around the hills surrounding the lake. I was knackered. The weather was pretty nice that day and I hadn't taken any water with me, so was shattered when I got back and just spent the evening in, chatting to various people. Wanaka is not what you would call a lively place at night.

Mon (19th) a couple of lovely Irish girls offered to give me a lift to Puzzle World, which is just outside the town as they were going there too. Spent an amusing couple of hours here wandering around the maze and getting thoroughly lost, and playing around with all the interactive optical illusion stuff. The photo of me is a rather poor attempt to get the tower to look as though it is wooshing up my bum. Nay mind, we can but try, eh?!
