damnit today was sunny, not a cloud in the sky. why couldnt it have been like this yesterday. doh!

oh well, we had our free breakfast, then went for a walk to the niagara falls whirlpool, which was very unimpressive. They have an aerocar built over the top of the river to view it, but i dont believe it even exists. there was no whirlpool whirling while we were looking. So that was a letdown. So we went back to the hostel and collected our packs and started the trek back to rainbow bridge where we would cross the USA border by foot for the first and last time this trip.

Since our bus wasnt till midnight though, we decided it would be better to waste as much time as possible in niagara falls so we wouldnt have to sit in the airport for too long, since thats where we were catching the bus from. So we went to the coca cola shop and bought a coke each, and went to the hersheys store and bought some chocolate, then sat and ate and drank as slowly as we could, and it was still only midday. Fail. Oh well, theres not much else we could do while both carrying heavy packs, so we went to america and waited for the bus to take us to buffalo downtown.

There were a lot of people on the bus, alot of WEIRD people. and it took around an hour, which is way too long to spend on a single bus with that many weirdos. so we were happy to get off at the downtown transit center to wait for the next bus to take us to the airport. So that was a 45min wait and then a 45min bus, so it was about 3pm when we got to the airport. and we were glad, because buffalo we found out later by a nice boy waiting for the same bus is one of the poorest and most dangerous places in new york state, and in summer theres murders almost every night. He used to live near buffalo and said he never goes near the town, only the airport now.

Anyway, we claimed some seats and discovered buffalo airport doesnt have free wifi, so that made the day go even longer. We played some cards, I read a book, tom played the toy harmonica he won at the arcade with his 25 tickets. It got to about 7pm and we were both starving, but the airport didnt even have anywhere to eat, and we didnt have any 1 dollar bills to put into the vending machine, and then the change machine ate toms $5 note. so that was more of a fail. However, on one of toms wanders upstairs he spotted a mcdonalds across the highway/freeway and went to see how long it would take to get there, 8 minutes later he was back with a small fries and he was super happy. So we grabbed our bags and went to maccas for some food and some wifi.

I used the internet to talk to mum and dad and then we went back to the airport to wait a few more hours for the bus. Which was 40mins late. damn megabus. And the bus was full, so tom had to sit next to some drunk ladies (hehe) while i sat next to a girl who kept falling asleep on me.

WOW i turned  a day where we did absolutely nothing but waste time waiting for a bus into more than 500 words. why you love this blog so much i will never know :P
