So wednesday was a tough day. The jetlag felt like it had set in for real and Tom and I managed to get as far as the end of the street before we turned around and came home again. Partly because we were tired and partly because we had no small change/notes for a bus to the city, so we wouldve had to have walked to Redmond, buy something to get small notes and then figure out where to catch the bus from to get to the city. That was all just too much effort. So we stayed home in the warm house, watched movies and top gear that we hadnt seen, as opposed to the 10 episodes they replay in Australia every 6 months, and booked stuff for the next part of our trip.

Oh and then Emma came home and she drove us to Kirkland to see Costco (crazy cheap and ridiculously large bulk buy everything you could ever want) and Safeway to buy some things to get some small change. Safeway was where Tom managed to spend $30 on sugary cereal, fosters beer in a ridiculously oversized can and 4 different flavours of gatorade that you cant get in Australia. And i bought toothpaste and peanut butter MnMs.

So this relaxing rest day left us feeling spritely and excited for YUM CHA at Jade Dragon with Emma. Her friend Lucy was supposed to come too, but she was busy, so we just took her 3 year old daughter with us instead, and she provided endless entertainment :)

Next Emma left us in the city to go home and we walked along 1st avenue to find the 'The North Face' shop, which is the brand of warm, adventure clothing that Seattle lives by, and Tom wanted some. But before we found it we went on an underground tour of Old Seattle where after the great fire destroyed the whole city and they rebuilt on top of the ruins and then built the sidewalks at the 1st floor of the buildings and attempted to fill in what was underneath so that the sewage problem they had wouldnt rise again. Very interesting tour with knowledgeable tour guides who provided not only a rich history of the area but also good entertainment. A few Aussies from Perth on the tour too!

Finally, we went to a Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics baseball game, with the horrible baseball food. 1 run was scored in the whole match. something like 5 people made it to 1st base? and even less made it to 2nd. The 1 run was a home run so that was the most exciting part. Also when one players bat snapped and flew into the stand haha. Other than being cold like at a Raiders match at Canberra Stadium it was an alright game and good thing to experience in America. probably shouldve picked a match with some better teams to get some more action though, but oh well! Fun was had :) especially by tom.

SLEEP TIME. <3 to all
