Where I stayed
Airlie Beach was our stop for our Whitsunday's sailing trip, so at 7am the next day we hopped on board the Siska for two days and one night. The weather was horrendous! We got drenched, our bags got drenched, so did all of our clothes and beds!
On the first day we stopped at Whitehaven Beach, which was beautiful, even under a very cloudy sky. I was beggining to think that boat trips, beautiful beaches and I didn't go hand in hand as exactly the same thing happened on my Phi Phi Island tour in Thailand! Anyway, we scrubbed ourselves with the ultra fine pure white Silica sand, cleaned our jewellery and even brushed our teeth with it!! The rest of that day was spent sailing in the rain until we moored before darkness fell, and it rained until morning
Up early the next day for Snorkelling in the sea under a very questionable sky!! I personally stayed on the boat due to my ridiculous fear of getting in the sea, but everyone else saw the beautiful Great Barrier Reef and it's inhabitants below the surface. I was very happy to see the results displayed on underwater cameras after.
We headed home in the pouring rain and over rocky waters, by which time caring about it was no longer an option! We sat on deck sporting very unflattering bright yellow rain coats tied up tightly around our faces!! Go on have a laugh....!
Arrived back for a well needed warm shower and change into dry clothes!!
Despite the rain, I had a brilliant time experiencing and exploring the Whitsunday Islands.
