Where I stayed
So I finally started working! Hoorah! I got a job at The Pacific National Exhibition selling entrance tickets at the gate. It's the 100th anniversary fair this year so there’s big parades and lots of other cool stuff going on all the time so its a really cool place to work. Its split into two parts, there’s the exhibition bit where i’m working, where there is a food court, a giant market place, concerts, animal shows etc. Then there is Playland, a big funfair with awesome rides and games.
During our induction I met some really nice girls, Victoria and Devin, so we became friends there and found out we had some similar shifts so that was good. I also made friends with a guy called Guvrir during one of my shifts. He is hilarious
I worked most of my shifts down at the gate by the coliseum, which is a big stadium that hosts a show called "Super Dogs" which is a great dog agility show that I made sure to see a few times J
We were promised before me started working that “this year the systems will not break down!”...easier said than done. One time when a girl and I were working at the racetrack booth on a supposedly quiet day, both our computers simultaneously crashed and we had a line of about 50 very angry people all wanting their tickets with nothing we could do about it! Not fun...
I Got The Mounty Shot!! Haha it was actually on my very last day of work there and I was heading to sign out when I bumped into one of the Mounties from the agrodome and got a quick picture with him (in my very non-attractive work uniform) so that made my week!
On my day off I actually came back to the fair to check out what was going on and had a great time checking out the sand sculpture competition and the animals at the farmyard and scoping out the rides
Another TUTs friend, Paul, was a dancer in the parade ( in a very special costume) and the rocked it out in the Kaboom show in the evenings, so it was good to see him as well J
Not too many pictures this time, I keep forgetting I have my camera! Love to all at home, Lucy xx
