There was a massive bang while driving along and thought the engine had blown up! Turned out it was the tyre, Matt changed it and put the spare on.

Made a petrol stop at the Burke & Wills Roadhouse which is the only servo along a 400km stretch of road.

Stopped at Mt Isa, a big mining town and the most civilisation we had seen in the past few days. Managed to get another spare tyre to replace the other one and the bloke charge us a carton of beer. We actually had to go to the off-license to buy him a 30 pack of beers!

Stayed over night with other campers in a rest area just outside Mt Isa, felt safer knowing there were other people around.
