Hello Friends and Family,
Today started out much more calm and relaxed. It was a beautiful day, sunny and around 60.  Spent a few hours looking around and walking the back streets with the locals.  It was really amazing, the small streets and the thin people.  The market was cool with the fresh fish, fruit, etc.  We then had to use the restroom, aka "Toilet" which is something that is almost impossible!  I think there was one public one.  You have to drink or eat to use their toilet; however, tonight I did beg one place and they let me go without eating.  Anyway, we were sitting in the sun drinking wine and people watching on the main canal.  It was great and then I spilled wine on Mick, so we had to return to our room and change.  The funniest thing is that I spilled the wine because I asked a passerby to take our picture so when I was leaning into Mick I spilled the wine ,right?  But get over this the guy took the picture of us with the wine spilled anyway I am attaching both and you will see.  Met a lot of nice people today, (Americans) because we were wearing our Cardinal stuff.  I did not know there were so many Americans.  You are afraid to talk because right away you get the cold shoulder from the Italians so you just stop talking to people and you know me, I love to start a conversation.  Anyway, we met a guy from Detroi, two other guys from Washington, a girl from Arizona, a girl from Philladelphia and then a couple from Springfield.  I was in talking heaven.  We came back to our room, played cards and drank Budweiser we found at a grocery store here on Lido.  Then journyed back for an evening stroll in Venice which turned into another evening "FALL" FOR ME!!  Yes, I fell down the steps over one of the small canals and this one was the other knee.  This time a woman ran up to help and Mick was telling her no, no, she's O.K., I was a cripple or something.  Wow, I am not sure what is going on with me, but I was trying to zip up my coat and the stairs moved.  Really though they are kind of deeper than regular stairs or something anyway that is why you will see a pic of now both my knees and ankles messed up.  We then got on the Vaparretti to go back to Lido and our driver was we guess a new guy, because he missed every stop and had to back up.  The gate guy was yelling at him and he was only doing like 1 mile an hour, then I thought well we will probably drown or something and then was crying again wanting to come home.  I know it sounds like I am a cry baby, but I am and feel so far from home.  Will sign off for now to plant backs and stuff by our door because the only way to lock it is to use the key which is an old time key skeleton key and if you lock it then you lock yourself in.  Well if I need to get out in a hurry then what, so I decided to put our medicine bottles in front of the door and when someone opens it then they will fall on the bottles.  Good one, huh?
Love to you all and goodnight.

Lisa. With all the wine you're drinking it seems you've become a "fall down" drunk. And now we have the pictures to prove it. Drink some for me!
