Beach heaven

"How many more days?" the clerk at the front desk asked for the 5th day in a row.

"One, 2, 3, maybe 4 more?" I would reply... we had no plan on leaving anytime soon.

The longer we staid here the more we wanted to stay!

Out hotel, Hotel Sal y Mar ( Sun and Ocean ), was complete with a pool and located right next to good restaurants. The beach was perfect.

At 5$ Canadian each per night, it was a steal!

We had our own sitting area in front of our room with a hammock all to ourselves.

It was a perfect place for Andrea's bday. When we arrived, we quickly met a large group of other tourists and arranged for a big dinner and fiesta for Andrea's bday.

Word spread quickly and it was funny to bump into people we didn't even know who already knew about her birthday.

"Hi my name is Andrea"

"Ohh you're Andrea! Happy birthday!" a stranger would reply.

We had a great time. The weather here was warm with a cool breeze. The sound of the waves crashing into the beach only 50 meters away could be heard from our room.

The food was delicious and the town was small enough to be quaint and yet had all of the amenities us gringos needed, Ice cream, clubs and great food.

The only complaint was of our loud neighbors who seemed to party every night and blast music while signing and yelling until 6am. Without windows in our room, even ear plugs wouldn't keep the noise out.

3 nights quickly turned to 5, then before we knew it, we had decided to skip seeing a few cities in Ecuador to make more time for Mancora and to staid here as long as we could before going to Quito for our flight to the Galapagos.

Beach heaven!
