Peruvian Oasis
Huacachina is a small oasis surrounded by giant sand dunes. The town exists only to cater to tourists and is very close to nearby Ica.
Although there isn't much to do, a thrill-a-second dune buggy ride in through the dunes along with a sand boarding session is a must for any tourist.
We tried both and loved it. The sand boarding would be the closest thing to snow boarding we would experience on this trip.
Although it's hardly as fun as the snow version of the sport, riding on giant sand dune has its excitement.
It's just tough getting speed knowing that a high speed fall onto very hard sand would most certainly result in a broken bone.
We only spent a few days here but the photos say it all.
