The sun warming our tent eventually woke us up about 9.30am, so a well deserved sleep in. We sat in the sun and had brekky before meeting Henry an Aussie ABC cameraman here to cover the dawn service. He was super friendly and gave us some good tips on what to see around the place. By the time we got going it was about 1.30pm and we drove up to Anzac Cove to take a look around the place without the crowds and also to take a walk up to Plugges Plateau where there was a wonderful view of the whole coastline including Anzac Cove.

The cemeteries and the surrounds are beautifully maintained and there were gorgeous brightly coloured flowers all around and amongst the grave. With the clear blue sky, the aqua water and the sun shining it was hard to imagine the hardship and pain that went on right where you are standing.

We then drove back to a picnic spot for lunch by the sea before heading back to set up camp again and just chill out in the sun.

Once the sun was going down it was time for a few drinks with some new Aussie friends here for the service as well and then dinner in the restaurant here.

Tomorrow we will drive Jabula as close to the commemorative site as we can and then walk the rest of the way there with our supplies. Apparently it is going to be 10 degrees overnight, oh well nothing we haven't camped through before :) The Dawn Service starts at 5.30am and then the Australian Service at Lone Pine is at 10am.
