Mum and I drove back to Melbourne via the Pink Lake which is an interesting little crusty salt pool thing in the middle of no where. It's dried up a lot of the time and the pinkness comes from the beta carotene in the algae. You learn something new everyday!

I had a couple of days more at Mum's house, said goodbye to friends and even got to spend another day with Alice and Donna who took me for a beer in St Kilda!! It's kind of like Bondi but the beach is crappier. It was great to finally get there. By the time we returned from St Kilda, the area around Flinders Street Station was packed solid! The bars and cafes were pumping. When we'd left for St Kilda it had been empty! It was the end of the Commonwealth Games and everyone finally wanted to see some action.

I bid my Mum a tearful farewell and flew back to Sydney to see if we really would be going to Bangladesh.
