We've been here 2.5 weeks already. Another 2 weeks to go. Already, we were commenting on how awesome it is to be able to pick up your (delicious) bread(s), fruits, meat, everyday from local markets. It's fresh. It's delicious. The Iberico ham in Spain (is there a better ham anywhere in the world? Sorry Mr. Parma Procuitto, you come in second on this) , the pastries and bread from France, the list goes on. Seriously, how do you go back to shopping at Cubs after that? Even  Whole Foods or some other upscale organic shop can't compare!

OK...I promised some of you that I would update my blog every few days but you have to understand...Sangria pitchers, sunsets from the patio, spending time with family and new friends, beach, sun, sand, sangria pitchers...

We finished our second week in Spain by exploring nearby towns like Peralada and Figueres. We also spent time with our new friends Jimmy and Dawn. We visited the Ciutadella, spent time at several beaches around, rented a boat. We also took the kids for their first time Go Karting. They had a blast but let's just say the Andrettis  won't be knocking on our door anytime soon.  The weather was per-fect. Everyday clear blue skies, hot, not humid and a light breeze. With the time difference, Dave was working late afternoon and evenings so we had all day to go out and play. From Rosas, we spent a couple of days in Barcelona. What a great city! Alive, exciting, entertaining. You know me, drop me in a city like that and I re-energize. Not that I needed to be after the time in Rosas but you get the picture.  Must. Go. Back. Francis and I hadn't spent anytime alone at all yet on our trip so Dave  so offered that we go off and find a great spot for dinner and he would take the kids out to eat and walk La Rambla. Thanks babe!  A friend had suggested Taller De Tapas. The food was excellent! I'm hoping that Francis will be able to reproduce the seared Foie Gras and the pork we had. What a treat it is to have him with us. We get to travel with our own personal chef. Scoooore!

I'm now writing from Paris. It's our last night here. We had 4 nights and 3 full days.  I LOVE this city. I have never been here in the summer tho and it happens to be Fashion Week. The place is packed! People everywhere, the town is buzzing! It's been a blast but I'm excited to go visit a part of France I haven't seen before. We're off to St-Meloirs which is 20 mins from St-Malo. Oh yeah...forgot to mention, my BFF Laura joined us in Paris and is coming with us for the remainder of the trip. We will have 2 weeks in the ''Bretagne'' region (Brittany.)

I'm posting a bunch of pictures and will write more from northern France. I know there's a lot of food pictures but if you know me well, you know that the only reason I exercise is because I luuuuv good food. In the meantime I leave you with two favorite quotes on this great city, you can tell me which one suits this town the best or which one you like the most. :-D Bonsoir tout le monde!

"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast."~ Ernest Hemingway

"It’s true that the French have a certain obsession with sex, but it’s a particularly adult obsession. France is the thriftiest of all nations; to a Frenchman sex provides the most economical way to have fun. The French are a logical race." ~ Anita Loos
