Puerto Lopez, Ecuador

We stayed in this lovely little village called Puerto Lopez along the pacific coast. We left Guayaquil thinking we would head straight to Machalilla, but we were informed on arrival that the village we were in was actually Montaņita. We waited for a bus connecting to the next village, being Puerto Lopez, and were told that we could go whale watching there, and that the place is better than Machalilla. So we got a lift there, and went straight to the tour and it was fantastic. We stayed 3 hours in the little boat that took us 40 minutes away and saw tens of whales, jumping in front of us, absolutely amazing, especially as all this was totally unplanned.
