Day 115 – 15 January 2011

What a terrible night's sleep. The car was hard to sleep in.  It was hot and we couldn’t open the windows much because of the bugs, the boot floor was very hard on my back, and the bugs that did enter buzzed and scuttle around creepily.  Nevertheless, I was in good spirits and looked forward to the sights of Canberra.  After an accidental ride down a gravel track aka 'unsealed’ road, we made Canberra just before lunch and bought an ‘X-mini’ speaker to provide music for the car and had a picnic in a lake side park afterwards.

We arrived in Genoa just before sunset around 19.30 and I proceeded to cook a delicious pasta dish for the team.  The stars were out in force tonight so over much gazing I pushed my camera to the limit and tried to capture some epic shots of the milky way.  Once asleep I was alarmingly awoken around 2am because (we think) a huge log/branch fell from a tree in the woods nearby and it made such a horrifying noise and thud when it hit the floor.  Never again will I camp near unstable woodland, fact.
