I'm leaving a cool and dismal Kamloops to set off on a Californian vacation. 

First stop was Abbotsford, where I stopped and shopped at the best mystery book store in the area (and visited with an online friend).  I loaded up on mysteries that will keep me going for at least the duration of my trip.

Second stop was Burnaby, where I stopped off to see my father and stepmother. 


My stepmother's memory problems are no better and Dad is having problems walking more than half a block or so outside; however, he does the best he can. 


As usual, I took them out to dinner at their favorite restaurant, Tivoli's http://www.tivolisrestaurants.ca.  They like it here because it is comfortable, they know the menu and the staff are used to their habits.
