We left Yuma and headed west. The landscapes changed so dramatically as we traveled. We went from sea level to over 4000 ft..in 45 minutes. As we ascended the mountain there were signs telling us to turn the AC off for 10 miles to prevent the car from overheating. They had water for the car's radiator all along the road about every .5 mile. It was really hot up there as well. When we pulled up top the hotel it felt so good to feel a coolness in the air.
We walked up to Little Italy to have dinner. Yum!
Then I drove up to Cardiff by the Sea to see my friend, Sharon from NJ. I hadn't seen her since I left in 1986. We had the best time and it was like no time had passed.

I can't believe you all are already 'there' and soon will be heading back 'here'.
I love the blog. You should make a book out of it when you get home.

WOW....the sunset photo and the water scenes at dusk. Is that Sharon from Clark? You were little girls back then. That was good you kept in touch and knew she was out in CA!
