The ride was smooth, the weather great and the conversation lively.
We got to the hotel and were surprised to find dinner being served for free. It was great, we didn't have to go out in the rain.
Tune into to see how Bubba's name changes with each state and the people we meet along the way!
Screeching the tires as we left this morning with Tom running after the car we got on the road at 10 am. You have probably noticed the clown by now. When my aunt retired they had a party for her and someone (Eileen) had found this painting that a former patient had done as a gift. Needless to say the thing is creepy. Everyone at the party insisted that we bring it with us. We have been having too much fun with him as have random people along the way. The clown did not have an official name. So we asked the nice ladies at the Georgia Welcome Center and they said he was 'cute as a button.' So until we got to the Alabama Welcome center we called him, Buttons. There they said that he looked like a man who always used to pass through but had died and they proceeded to tell us what a kind person he was and he did alot of work with orphanages and sick children. His name was, Bubba Dollar. So 'Bubba Dollar' has visited alot of key points of interest here in Montgomery .The Courthouse The State Building, (where the Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights March culminated with a famous speech by MLK), Hank Williams grave and the Civil Rights Memorial.
