It took a good 4 days to get over the jet lag. We started class on Monday, August 27. The participants are so lively, the speak over each other to ask us questions, and they're not shy at all to express their opinions (even clash with each other!)... so much for cultural training about timid Indians who generally do not ask questions.

We didn't find a lot to explore in Bangalore. We took a walk around town on Sunday before the training started. Crossing the wide streets was scary at times - there are no traffic lights anywhere, and the streets aren't lit at night. Some street crossings were manned with a policeman instead, and that was fairly effective where it existed. Where there are traffic lights everyone ignores them and they need a policeman anyways. Traffic is a madness of cow driven carts, auto rickshaws, bicycle rickshaws, cars, buses, and construction and other trucks. Every vehicle is packed to the brim with Indians and its not unusual to see four people on a bike.  And yet there are so many vehicles that the city is very polluted, ironically given its fame as "garden of the south".

We walked past the Vidhana Soudha, the Karnataka High Court, the main shopping strips around MG road... and from there on we stuck mainly to hotels.
