WE SAW A MANTA RAY!!!! I've no idea if this was a regular manta or a Giant but it looked big. It was at a point in the dive where the current had picked up a lot. We were getting carried along with no way to stop ourselves when the Manta Ray glided effortlessly and gracefully past us the other way. I was lucky to get a photo as we were swept away very quickly and it disappeared from sight, but it was just amazing to see it swim into the current and not even look like it was trying. An absolutely beautiful creature, I feel very privileged to have seen it!
Before the Manta, the dive was pretty good anyway. We saw some unusual creatured like a sea moth! We also saw a variable marble ray which I was really please to see, and a kingfish!
Obviously I enjoyed the dive, however the current was a little strong, I like to be able to swim around and not worry when I'm away from people or that I'm going to be swept into the reef and damage it. Fortunately that didnt happen on this dive, but less of a current would have also meant more time with the Manta Ray!!
