So….I’ve done it. I’ve finished work and I’ve said my final goodbyes. I went into work this morning with the most humongous lump in my throat and wasn’t happy until I‘d blubbed at least 20 times by the time I left. Its mainly because I feel like I’ve finished work for good, not just for two months. Yes, I know how strange that sounds but if you are ever lucky enough to be in this position, you’ll know exactly what I mean!! Its going to be very odd not having to get up and go into work and not seeing people I enjoy seeing every single day. But I’ve had some wonderful cards and notes that I will treasure and take with me wherever I go.
At the weekend, we had a final ‘take-away’ with some family and friends. It was a lovely evening and we were all extremely merry by the time the food arrived. We managed to clear most of the alcohol that will go off in two months (what?! it doesn’t?!) and ate out the entire menu at the Chinese……all in preparation for this weekend in Hong Kong, of course! We then spent most of Sunday packing and repacking (which only resulted in one tiff…..I was impressed!) and then repacking again. Unfortunately I think I’ve got far too much stuff so I’m going to have to re-do it just one more time!!
Tomorrow, I intend on visiting my most admired Mummy P. Its going to be strange as I know this is something she really would have loved to have done. It would have been her birthday on 18th October when we are leaving Phillip Island, so I intend on raising one, or maybe two, glasses in her honour. I know she will be travelling with us and seeing all the spectacular sights we will see. Apart from that, I will be cleaning the house from top to toe and finishing off the last bits. All ready for an early exit on Thursday.
And then that’s it, Thursday we will be heading to London Heathrow ready for our flight on Friday, where I intend on starting my blog properly…..the beginning of my long awaited travels!!!!!!!
