I am now totally sorted on the work front - I now have 2 part time jobs! One is working a mixture of daytime shifts (when the Deli is more of a cafe) and evening shifts (when it's more of a restaurant) as a general waitress/cashier/barista-type person. The other is cleaning a motel on the mornings when I am not working at the Deli. So together I have the hours of a full-time job but the variety of two very different types of work - it's close to ideal! Pay is pretty much minimum wage, which is similar in Oz to at home, but with the ridiculously cheap rent I am paying I think I will be able to save easily. And the non-financial advantages, which are possibly more important, are that I have an excuse to stay a while in a lovely place, and also that I gain some valuable experience. All good!
