We both managed a fairly good nights sleep on the train and it pulled into the last stop in Malaysia around 6.15am. Malaysian immigration officials then got on board the train to check all our passports and give us out exit stamps. Afterwards the train carried on the final stretch over the causeway into Singapore woodland station. The trains no longer run into central Singapore and instead stop just inside Singapore near the border, approximately 30km outside the centre of the city. When we arrived at the station we disembarked and made our way through Singapore immigration after filling in arrival cards. It did seem a bit of a slow process but we eventually made it through immigration and customs. We then got onto a bus to take us to one of the central bus stations in Singapore which happened to be around the corner from our hotel. Being 7.45am the bus was really busy with people heading to work and they only take the exact fare which we obviously didn't have so we overpaid slightly. The bus journey in all took an hour and a quarter and we arrived at our hotel at 9am. Thankfully we were allowed to check in early and we were then able to catch up on some sleep (the train isn't quite the same!).

After a few hours sleep we headed out into Singapore to explore. Firstly, we wandered around Little India looking at a few temples and also found a little Indian to have lunch in. All the buildings in the area were really quirky and interesting.

Next we did the Colonial walk from the guidebook, which went past Singapore Art Museum, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd, Raffles Hotel, St Andrew's cathedral, City Ball, Padang field and finally the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall. It was really interesting and we ended the walk at the Singapore River and Marina Bay which was stunning. From there you can see the Marina Bay Sands Hotel which has like a boat on towers which is extreme and an arts centre which was really cool and a good place to sit and view the whole bay and Singapore's skyline from.

From there we walked along Singapore River and the quays. They were lined with really cool buildings and sculptures. Unfortunately, it was around this point that it started raining a lot and it was still doing so when we decided we would have to walk back to the hotel even though we didn't have any raincoats with us. We got back to the hotel around 6pm, a little wet, and chilled out.

In the evening we were going to walk back to the Marina as I had read that they do light shows on the bay, but the rain had got worse and we didn't fancy the 30 min walk there and back. Instead we went out looking for a restaurant near our hotel, and stumbled upon a pizza hut delivery shop. We decided that takeaway pizza at the hotel watching films on tele was the perfect way to spend our final evening.
