Today we had to check out, but we still had the whole day to spend in KL as we were booked on the night train at 10.30pm to Singapore. We had breakfast as usual and then set about packing our stuff up again. Unfortunately the weather had took a turn for the worst over night and it was now raining and looked like it planned to continue for a lot of the day. This sort of ruined our plans as we had intended wandering through the Lake gardens but you don't really fancy it in the rain!

Instead, our sightseeing bus tickets lasted until 12.30 so we decide to see if we could avoid the rain and ride the bus for a while. Unfortunately we only managed to go a 1/3 of the way round before someone came and checked our tickets, realised they were expired and told us to get off at the next stop! Luckily we ended up at the north end of the lake gardens and it was only a short walk back to Mederka square.

We then realised that the city gallery that was in the square and that it was free! Handy to find somewhere to escape to the rain and it actually turned out to be rather interesting and contained a scale model of the whole of the city of KL.

Next we returned to Central Market and wandered round, got some food and generally wasted some time. We had by this point seen most of the city and more walking would have meant more time in the rain! After a while we went back to our guesthouse and relaxed for a while in the communal area before our evening train.

Later in the evening, we headed back out into the rain to get the metro to KL Sentral, where our train was departing from. We were booked onto the night train to Singapore departing KL at 22.30 and arriving in Singapore at 7am. Although this journey was longer than getting a bus or a day train it was much more convenient as we saved a nights accommodation and the train was actually really cheap! Only £8 each which is only £1 each more expensive than our guesthouse in KL! Definitely a bargain! We had booked sleeper berths online and we had got upper ones. Climbing into them was fun and we had to have our bags up there with us as we couldn't find anywhere else to leave them. But actually the train was rather comfortable and it wasn't long before we were both asleep.
