Now we are back in the hotel and will be off tomorrow early for the Cliffs of Moher. More to come later! Love to all!
Day four is going to be a long drive and we didn't get off as early as we would have liked! We left around 10:30 to head to Dingle, a beautiful fishing village on the Dingle Penisula. The roads were so narrow with sharp turns that it took much longer than expected. We finally arrive around 1 PM, snapped a few pictures and headed back out. We still had a three hour drive to Galway plus a 30 minute ferry ride to cut off about 60 miles. The ferry was interesting! Just a big platform ferry that holds about 50 cars and nothing else! We saw several dolphins inn the harbor as we crossed which was beautiful. We were off the ferry in no time at all and then drove straight to Galway. We arrived here around 5:30 to the Twelve Hotel in Barna, a small village in Galway about 7 minutes from downtown. Rob was exhausted from driving all day so we took a cab into town for some fish and chips at the best "chips" in Galway at McDonagh's. Delicious!!! After dinner we walked around town to get a feel for the place. The Christmas decorations are still up all ove Ireland and are really beautiful and different from a lot of ours. One difference in particular is that Santa Claus seems to be much more athletic over here. He can be seen parachuting, scaling the sides of buildings and climbing many ladders. He is quite fit compared to the pictures we see!
