Anxious to move on and feeling great, we said goodbye to our gracious host at the Quetzal Inn and took the bus-boat-bus ride from Monteverde to La Fortuna, a touristy town known for Costa Rica´s most active volcano, Arenal. We had a relatively clear day to cross Laguna de Arenal which gave us a spectacular view of Arenal as we were dropped off in its sublime shadow. Tomorrow we´re off to the Rio San Juan of Nicaragua, an area supposedly still reminiscent of Mark Twain´s exploration in 1866.
