Cahuita was smaller and less fun than Puerto Viejo, but the National Park was a highlight. Since the park was so accessible and crowded we kept expectations low on seeing wildlife, but as soon as we saw the monkey droppings...we knew we were close....and sure enough we saw a howler monkey family (with newborn) and some pretty daring capuchins (white faced monkeys).
The town also had a food highlight to offer: the best jerk chicken, very delicious.
Since we´ve had enough of the beaches for now, we decided to head to the mountains again..setting up the mosquito nets in rooms with no hooks has made us tired of trying....so bring on the cool fresh breezes of the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
