13 Aug, We left Bath in the wet as you would (raining again) and drove to Castle Combe which
is a beautiful village in Wiltshire unspoilt by tourists with a nice church of St Andrew.
We then drove to Burford, the ladies looked in shops & we boys went in the local museum which
has free entry but is an excellent museum. We had lunch and then went on to Great Rissington
and Burton on the Water where we had "cream tea" which was of poor quality. It started to rain
again!.We pushed onto Tewkesbury staying at the Abbey Hotel which was built around 1600
pic of deed of sale 1605. We had a nice meal in The Bell pub built in 1696, here a waitress who
served us had just dumped a Kiwi boy friend & when asked why? she replied he was a "Plonker"

14 Aug This morning still raining Don driving we went to Ledbury then onto Ludow were we had
lunch in "The Feathers" pub built around 1670 refurbished in the 1800's then on to Welshpool
most of the time driving thru rain, but when we arrived at our B&B Tynllwyn Farm at 4pm the sun was shining, David, our host told us the house was built in 1861 still in original state but beautifully redecorated inside. His family has owned and lived in the house since 1919.He is 3rd generation & now leases out the Farm land with 150 cows and 200 sheep.and just runs the B&B.The rooms
are magnificent our view is splendid. We went to the local pub "TheOak" where we met some nice welsh locals & had a very good meal -3 of us had steak & kidney pie and Bob & I had Tetleys hand pulled beer which was nice, We got  home at 9pm and are now sorting out for tomorow where we go to in the Stoke-on-Trent area to look up where Di & Maureen's ancestors came from.
Hoping the weather is kind to us for a change.

Say hi to the ancestors Ma and Aunty M - Mela wants to know which blighter gave her knobbly knees.

Rain rain everywhere - be careful on the roads family.
We love you xxx wbm

Hi all, enjoyed the pictures of Twekesbury etc. We visited there in 2000 with our Navy friends. From your pictures it looked like we stayed oppostie your hotel the address we stayed was Jessop House Hotel 65 Chursh Strreet. By the way although we went in October , we had rain also (smile). Also Roger we have just had a few days break in Leeds, celebrating Barry's birthday. We had a good deal for a couples of nights in a good hotel and a free curry at one of the Aagrah Indian Restaurants, brilliant meal, can't beat a good curry even if we had to travel to Bradford.. Doreen loved the shops in Leeds city centre, didn't want to come home. (smile again).
