25 July, We departed Ambleside at 10am drove up the Kirkstone Pass and stopped at the pub
were by chance we met Audrey & David took some pic's then onto Pooley Bridge and Gretna Green were we all "got re married" over the anvil the weather and senery was special.
We arrived at our B&B in Peebles at 6pm and what a very nice place it is ;built 12 years
ago by Sue & Roger, Sue's 1st Husband died and so she sold the farm and now has just 10 acres
and a few sheep to cut the gass, they have pheasants so have shooting party's, and clay pidgeon
shoot. They have a beautiful house, we sat in the very comfortouble lounge, with lots of family photographs and rustic ,farm orniments we chatted and had a drink, very nice they are a wounderful hospitable couple.Sue's daughter lives in Timaru with 3 granchildren and her son lives in Queenstown, both married NZ's, Sue visits NZ for 6 weeks Feb/March every year

26July
awoke after a better nights sleep, grey skies & blue patches, our breakfast was home cooked
I had "Haggis" the girls had fruit; leaving for Edinburgh at 10am, took us about 1-15min to get to Edinburgh we drove about 21 miles to the park and ride, then a bus into the city centre cost 1-20p, we visited St Giles church on the Royal Mile then walked up to the castle were we watched the gun go off at 1pm, went into two Regimental museums, we then walked down the Royal Mile to Holyrood House all very interesting.Cost 15gbp to get in castle they have 8000 visitors per day.We had lunch on Rose St which Bob was pleased about. We then came back to Peebles for a beer and an Italian meal, home by 9-30pm, we sat and chatted with Sue again, bed 11 -25pm
the girls went to bed early hair problems, Don,Bob chattered while I wrote this blog. Roger went out fox shooting they have killed a few sheep so there No is up.They missed 4 "bugger"
So another long day.Weather today being "mixed" cloudy, rain (while we were in castle museum)
then late afternoon quite warm with blue skies, tomorrow we are going to the centre of the
universe for 4 days (Yorkshire for those who do not know) so the weather will improve.

Hi to you all
I sent something the other day which hasn't appeared so can't have done it properly. Thoroughly enjoying the blog Roger, well done. I know that it isn't really for us but a help as your Alzheimers really kicks in!!!!
I saw the car parked in one of your photos', how on earth do 6 of you get into that tiny car or do you have another one tucked away?
I tried to set up a blog after reading yours but just not technical enough. Wish Terry would set it up but he is sooooo busy playing freecell and reading about the mightly All Blacks. Hope the can prevail this weekend again.
We have 8 more sleeps before we set out for Canada and Alaska etc. I have the bags packed already to take the pressure off the last few days when there will be jobs to do plus drive to Sunshine Coast and catch up with my sister and hubby, over for their annual sun drenched holiday (I hope).
I hope you are not peeking at Coronation Street while over there. Oz is now only 7 months behind the Poms!!!! Vicky is 9 weeks preggers with baby. I think she is going to lose it. You don't have to tell me though if this is the case!!!! This will do for now, keep enjoying yourself and keep writing, good fun reading. Love to all, Jackie and Terryxxxx
