My time on the farm has come to an end, which i am quite sad about actually.I have not only made new friends and had lots of fun but have also gained a second family and home. I made sure my last week was extra good, fitting lots of fun things in. On the saturday before my last week, me and a couple of the wild local girls had a night out in town, which was fun but made me feel very old due to being surrounded by 18 year olds, even worse, drunk 18 year olds! Maybe I have outgrown the clubbing scene as i was missing the good old country pubs which, can be very entertaining indeed!
Tuesday was full of lots of fun ith toddler olympics at play group. Not sure the children quite understood the rules for some of the events but were all keen to join in and have lots of fun. I, however was very disappointed to not receive a meadal, i thought i did quite well in the lolly event! Taht night i was treated to a lovely meal by fiona and andrew. We went out to a lovely little place in Taihape with awesome food. Was also quite relaxing without the "i wnna have the same as daddy's got" "whaaaaaaa whaaaaaaaaa whaaaaaaaaa".
Thursday me and fiona decided to through a coctail party. I think Andrew was a bit shocked when he walked in the room and was suddenly surrounded by a dozen alchohol fuelled females. Needless to say he made a hasty departure. The next morning i was feeling a wee bit rough, not only due to the cocktails but also the amount of sweets, chocolate and cheese and crackers that were consumed.
Friday's game of touch was fun, nearly scored. If ony i had realised that i was past the try line and actually put the ball down before i was touched, grrrrr! After the game we moved on to the Argoyle pub which was full of farmers slowly having a few too many. This was made clear when a few individuals started dancing and stripping on the bar. All good fun, was a cracking night apart from when i realised that the car battery was dead and didnt get home til 4am!!!
Saturday went out for a final drive on the quad to the centre yards and, after walking round town like a zombie all day, had a nice grown up meal, fiona's special roast, andrew's self saucing chocoate pudding and yet more cocktails.
Manageed to control my emotions all through the family breakfast and goodbye cuddles only to have a delayed reaction on the bus. Am spending the last week catching up with more of the family which is nice. I feel truely blessed to have been welcomed into the family and so lucky to have had the experience and time on the farm.I have memories which i will cherish forever! Very sad to leave BUT, i will be back!!!!!!

Things I Will Miss in NZ:-

- Not wearing shoes. Walking round town, hanging out in the pub and playing touch in your bare feet is bliss!
- Fresh meat on the farm, was oh so tasty!
- The chocolate mmmmmmmmmm!
- The scenery, amazing
- The friendliness of everyone
- The animals
- My new family
- The farm
- The country pubs
- Monteith's larger
- The stars (you haven't seen the stars until you have seen them in nz)
- Wheat free bread that actually tastes like bread and doesn't crumble in your hands!
