So. very quick update as ive not got very long left on here! I'm currently in Accra, we came to go to the second part of Naas (my house sister) wedding. They have a wedding ceremony thing at the brides home, then there's a meal mostly organised by the groom's family... so we're in Accra for that! I shall give more detail on the wedding another time, there's a lot of stuff and it's very different! well, there are a few things that are similar but not much!
The cockerel was killed on Monday, made a veeery tasty meal - the sweet taste of revenge! although, now we've moved next door, there is another cockerel who is even louder than the dead one! earplugs at the ready!
The Goat. Poor Harold was brutally slaughtered on wednesday. ok so it wasnt brutal, but i definitely didnt hang around to watch. i locked myself away and put some music on! he didnt taste good either... sort of like the smell he gave off when alive. urgh. they gave us intestines to eat first. i took one bite and... well. lets just say the toilet got a nasty visit!
Oh yeah, i got another 24hr stomach upset on tuesday too, which was slightly frustrating seeing as we had a visit to the maternal health clinic planned. i made it to the clinic... listened to the guys doing our presentation... before collapsing and having to be lead to a bed. so embarrassing!
I was ok by Wednesday though! and we climbed the third mountain - much more difficult than it looked and much tougher than the first two! (which we also had to climb, the smaller one on the way there, the larger one on our way back :S)
The wedding was on Thursday... Brett wasnt feeling great, so much so that half way through the ceremony he disappeared and took himself to hospital. Diagnosed with Worms... and Malaria! fantastic.
Anyway, i need to skedaddle, i'm sure another mammoth entry on weddings will follow!
Hope all is well at home!
(oh and congrats to Em and Euan on their engagement! :D)
TTFN! x
