Use the photos, your imagination and what you know of Amanda and I to imagine how amazing our 3 nights and 4 days were at this spot. The red dirt and turquoise blue was magnified by our polarized sunnies but the picture tell the tale, this stretch of coast gets the extreme tidal fluctuations that the Kimberely is famous for, while we were there there was a 10.3 metre high tide and down to a 0.8 metre low within 5 hours.

The tide pools that are exposed at low tide is a glimpse into an underwater world. The reef and life that inhabits it are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!  The fishing is challenging but rewarding. And the place is just magic, camping on top of the red cliff above the coast line, we had a amazing time.

BUT........ sadly this grand tale has a tragic ending! The road leading in and the surronding area is marked everywhere with spray painted signs and on the road, "NO GAS". The exact spot we camped is marked for the building site of a natural gas processing plant. The protest signs and petitions have failed and the project will begin construction soon. It is a very sad fate for such a place, where we felt bad for walking on the reef and still pick up garbage on the beach. It seems all natural places are doomed to the expansion and greed of mankind.

Although the plans are in place and it may well be too late. I am sending an email to the West Australian Goverment to express my disgust with the project and would encourage anyone with the time and passion to do the same.
