So, we have now been in HK for just over 24 hours......Andrew has now gotten over his upset at realising he won't be able to do anything in the UK for the next three months (that sunk in after our trip to Westfield to view Bond on our last afternoon in London - although he did leave on a high note after discovering James Bond's dad was called Andrew (good name)).

We jumped straight into the noisy, crowded streets of Kowloon last night to sample some local cuisine - perhaps Andrew's Singapore noodles are something he should have left until Singapore, but he enjoyed them and that's what counts! It was a rather dodgy looking place with garish plastic seating everywhere but full of locals and dirt cheap.....and tasty. The massive portion sizes combined with a long haul flight made for a sound night's sleep in our (very) tiny room.......

We hopped on the Star Ferry across to Hong Kong Island this morning to meet a friend for coffee and then took the tram up Victoria Peak and had a wander around. What started off as a pretty hazy day cleared by the time we were up there and the views of the skyscrapers, harbour and islands were incredible.

This evening we went to M&S (yes, M&S!!) to stock up on bread, cheese and wine to take on a boat tour of the harbour.....AMAZING.......the nightly light show - take it or leave it - but two hours, with just the two of us on a boat (and the captain of course!), just cruising around the harbour could only have been made better if Andy had been wearing his "boat shirt". We are however questionning how comfortable he is on boats, given that he was reluctant to let go of the wine bottle and glasses - he was convinced that every time a wave hit the boat, the wine/ bottle/ glasses would be lost overboard or sent flying across the deck!

Planning on catching a ferry to Lantau tomorrow for some hiking and a beer on the Cheung Sha beach to watch the sunset.......

Next update to follow soon.

ps. D - we have seen hundred of McDonalds and thought of you EVERY time. xx
