Day 73

Despite our tyre rotation a couple days earlier and the work done in Dar es Salaam, Corrie's steering had not been right and so we took it to a dealer with all the latest laser equipment in Lilongwe. We decided to put on some new front tyres as well so that we could be sure all was as safe as possible.

With the steering now feeling back to normal, for Corrie, we pushed onto the border with Zambia. The Malawian side was a breeze again however the Zambian side required us to get out our medical books for the first time, proving we’d had all our yellow fever, hepatitis and various other injections. Fortunately we had done them all before leaving otherwise you get led to the back room for them, not something you want in a rural border crossing.

We pushed on and made it to the exceptionally average town of Sinda where our choice of lodging was limited to 1 dump. We are prepared to call this the worst accommodation we’ve had so far, not a good start for Zambia.
