Abby, my friend from my freshman year at UT and I met at the Lisbon airport (me with baggage in hand, Abby, not so much.. :( ) and have had a good two days so far!
We are having a 9 year reunion in Portugal, Spain, and parts of Italy.
Abby's bags came this morning... and we headed out soon after that.
We walked around the Alfama alleys and got lost many times... finally found the Castelo de Sao Jorge after Abby attempted to speak some sort of Portugese-Spanish to a shop owner who finally said "Do you speak English?" to us!
After that we were hot and tired and stumbled upon a really great little watering hole where we had Sangria Verde (made from vinho verde wine - "green") - it was really good!
It's been a long day... uploaded some pics!
Head to Madrid tomorrow night on a night train...
