A little different from our New Years in Gjoa Haven last year...  we're just back from Playa del Carmen and we're ready to ring in 2012!!  During the day we took our first drive on the Dettah Ice Road - it just opened - after watching the water of Great Slave Lake freeze slowly for the past few weeks.  In the evening we saw the famous fireworks, fit for the Northern Territorial Capital.
