Driving towards a forrest fire, going North on the Yellowknife Highway... www.nwtfirecom will show you where lightening has struck, where fires are burning, and what roads are closed due to smoke/fire. A good resource. The road out of town closed a few times this summer due to fire and smoke... there were also quite a few days that were very smoky and hazy in the capital city. The weather channel reported "Local Smoke", also the name of a Yellowknife band....
