Cultus Lake is an oasis of water surrounded by forrested mountains, like sparkling water in a giant green bowel. An amazing provincial park in Chilliwack BC. We had fabulous sunshiney summer weather (a nice break from up North where crisp fall weather has arrived).

We took full advantage of having the natural paradise in our backyard by partaking in the popular activity "floating" - you gotta try it!  It's so relaxing, after spending some time on the surface of the lake in the sun watching the sailboats and clouds go by, you'll feel like you'd spent the day at the spa!  At the end of our 'float' we went over a little waterfall - super refreshing!  BC is seriously like nature's playground.

Besides spending time in the lake, we also went swimming in the rushing and frosty blue rocky waters of the Vedder River (did I say swimming? it was actually more like 'dipping' in because it was very fresh). And to top off our relaxation weekend, I must mention that nothing relaxes quite like beer. First off when we arried in BC we stocked up on as many local brews as we could find - they were all very tasty and kept our relaxation efforts on an even keel the entire time in Cultus Lake!

We had an all in all wicked time enjoying the scenery as well as singing Kareokee and dancing at the ASU Streetparty. We celebrated my best friend's birthday and caught up on each other's lives like no time had passed at all since we last saw each other.  She seems really happy in Cultus Lake, and how could she not be, locates near organic farms (fresh duck eggs anyone?) and very personable businesses (like the Vedder Grill that serves all homemade delishisness), this may very well be one of the best places in Canada!
