Onward southward and eastward into the rocky mountains and into the torrential rain!!! We kept hearing reports on the radio of roads being closed due to flooding and landslides! Yikes!!! We found these road closures on the map and adjusted our travells several times. We made it through alright though and saw some beautiful views of mountains in the distance.
I was really looking forward to seeing Pink Mountain because I had read that it was actually going to be pink due to the flowering Fireweed and Red Willows on the mountain. However, I think it was not so much a 'Pink' as a 'Pine Beetle Dead' colour. (Pine Beetle I have mentioned before during my trip to Revelstoke) Ah well, really I suppose a mountain of any colour is to be commended.
The rain got really bad but at least it washed some of the mud cake off our car!!
