Today we drove around Snaefells Jokul peninsula. The mountain was quite unimpressive relative to others in this land. We filmed a fun video pretending we were Journeying to the Centre of the Earth. Really though, we were at the top of the Centre of the Earth. The north part of the peninsula was lovely. We had the best meal in the whole country at noon before we left the ferry village of Stykkishôlmus. The mountains along the north side were beautifully coloured, lots of falls and tons and tons of birds nesting in crevasses near Olafvik. The south side was showery, it had sandy coloured hills and gravel mounds. Senica hid a bird, with the car by accident, it was small.
We forgot our coats in that restaurant hotel and now we have to drive all the way back to get them. Hopefully they'll let us stay the night again because we know there are no accommodations in that area. We stocked up with food supplies at a little road side diner. I got a bacon wrapped hot dog (tasted more like a lamb dog) smothered with potatoes salad and crispy onions - weird but delicious!
