Honeymoon in Paradise

Well, at one point Senica though we would just drive all night in the midnight sun. There is just so much to see we don't want to stop. And since the sun shines almost non stop, we don't have to put our exploration on hold. But I sure and glad that we stopped. It is 22h22 and we are at Smyrlabjorg. It is a superb country hotel. From our room window we can see the ocean, snow capped mountains, and scampy baby lambs in their green pastures. What a crazy magical day we have had this 17 May 2009, Sunday.

We stopped at a glacial bay - WOW!!!   Breathtaking!!!   There massive 'ships' of white and black ice, sitting in a cool calm blue 'dockyard' water had almost a spiritual effect on us. The sun started  glowing behind a blizzard on a mountain peak, radiating a soft golden blue glow in the air. Seals were swimming around near the close burgs. There are one gigantic iceberg that was smooth and shaped like a whales arching out of the waves. It was stipend black and blue and looked almost like a monster! The lagoon was so powerful peaceful and still, it was a big chilling. It was indescribably awesome! 

We are so thankful for this day, seeing these sights which we could never have dreamt or imagined. I am so thankful for the people who touched my life today, the friendly passersby, the hospitable woman who made us delicious soup at such a late hour and provided us with a soft bed, and my warm husband with blue blue eyes. This is paradise. Senica and I agreed today that Iceland is proof that God has a plan.
