Today we visited Pier 39 and Fishermans Wharf!

Pier 39 is a shopping centre and a popular tourist attraction, the second highest in tourist visits following on from Disney Land, California!! Lots of cool shops with funky t-shirts, resturants and a Aquarium of the Bay.

The Pier is famous for its California Sea Lions that often sit around the pier, but for some unknown reason there has not been any for a couple of days :(

We got a eat Clam Chowder, well Chippy did!! Angie with her shellfish allergy got to have Chicken Chowder!! Which was pretty cool, for those of you who has not tried a clam chowder, you have to try it!! It is fish pie (without the mashed potatoes and with clams obviously) stuffed in a big round bread roll (with the centre taken out)!!

Also got to go and see the Aquarium by the Bay, the sea life which is on the pier. Walked through the two shark tunnels and got some cool photos of the jellyfish!

From the pier we had a clear view of Angel Island,Alcatraz and Bay Bridge. On a clear day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge from the pier.

After our day out on Pier 39 we made our way past the famous chocolate factory, Ghiardelli and had a cookies and cream ice cream before returning to our hostel in Fort Mason!
